The PayComm Editorial Office has re-organized the subject on contactless payments in the PayComm database and at the same time amended latest information. This little navigation help was designed to facilitate your access to the various components by using the links to the different pages.

An introduction to the subject seen from an acquirer perspective with regard to acceptance brands, payment at contactless POS terminals is described under payment methods in the chapter acquiring.

The contactless reader function has been integrated into EFTPOS terminals or is added to stand-alone devices. Thus, details about contactless devices are reported in the section on POS terminals.
The standard applied for proximity RFID communication with contactless cards is ISO/IEC 14443.
